Ann attended the University of Michigan and was part of the Alpha Phi sorority. She married Robert Field Zemer in 1944. There, Ann was active in the community with the Women's Club, helping to raise funds for scholarships.

She moved to Irvine in 1971 and when she and Bob divorced, she attended California State University at Fullerton and finished her bachelor's degree. She went on to work as a city planner for the County of Orange until she retired. She was active in volunteering for the University Park Homeowners Association, serving on the landscape committee. She eventually moved to Regent's Point.

Ann was an excellent pianist and played classical music for her children in the evening after dinner. She was an outstanding artist enjoying painting and woodcarving. She also loved gardening, hiking and bird-watching. She passed many of these interests on to her children.

She leaves her three children, Penelope, Debbie (Frank) and Carolyn. She leaves her granddaughter, Kristina and her husband Michael. She also leaves her four great-grandchildren, Jakob, Amelia, Morgan and Carley.
