Corkum, Collin John,
was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on Aug. 3, 1916 and passed away on March 15, 2013 at the age of 96 in Tustin, California.
Collin was an educator all his life, earning his Master's degree from Scripps College and his Ph.D. from La Jolla University. He enjoyed teaching and taught high school, college and in the California correctional system. Collin's particular gift was teaching math, language and cultural/relational skills to the disenfranchised and under-educated.
Collin loved to write and through his own successful struggle with dyslexia, he researched, wrote and published a book through Amazon, called Dyslexia Breakthrough.
He served as president of the local Lions Club and president of the local tennis club.
Collin is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jerria Girard-Corkum; his daughter, Lorraine Corkum Janeway and husband Brad; 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
