Filley, Edward Campbell "Ed",
of North Tustin, passed away at his home on November 2, 2013. Ed was born in Pasadena on May 19, 1927, son of Edward Prior Filley and Wanda Mabel McMurtry. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Patricia "Pat" and their loving family; his three children, Susan Corell and husband Will of Spokane, son, Ted Filley and wife Kim of Encinitas, Jeff Filley and wife Pam of North Tustin; step-daughters, Lori Medlin and husband Keith of St. Louis and Tricia Stanier and husband Scott of Murrieta; grandchildren, Jay, Rob, John, Cam, Kyle, Erin; step-grandchildren, Jamie, Matthew, Marissa, Renee, Sydney, Ian; and newborn great-grandson, James Gregory.
His greatest joy in life was love of family. He had a passion for Stanford University, his alma-mater. Prior to his college years, he attended South Pasadena High School and in the summers he was a cowboy roping cattle on his uncle's ranch in Lodi, CA. He joined the Navy after graduating from high school.
Ed was a true sportsman and loved both water and snow skiing, golfing, camping, backpacking and was an avid tennis player. He had a passion for travel with his beloved wife Pat, and spent much of his time body surfing at the beach. He enjoyed reading, planning world travel itineraries, playing bridge and cheering on his grandkids in their various endeavors.
During his years of illness, he was lovingly cared for by Rick Baker, Ben Agojo and Jay Herron.
