Fischer, John Clarence, M.D.,
84, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2012 in Carlsbad, California. He was born March 9, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan. He received a bachelors degree from University of Toledo, attended Medical School at Ohio State University
in Columbus. Dr. Fischer also served as a captain in the United States Army. Jack, or Dr. Jack as many knew him, was a respected family physician in Costa Mesa, CA, practicing for 45 years, inspiring and comforting many. He was a selfless father to Michael, Christen, Gregory, Kirk, Keith and Matthew. He was a devout and self-converted Catholic, a faith he shared with his adoring wife Peggy of nearly sixty years, who preceded him in death. Learning impassioned him and doing satisfied him; his interests were spread from astronomy to winemaking, from sailing to cartography and numerous fields in between - he truly enjoyed life. He was proud of his children and taught them a love of nature, a quest for right and a work before play rule in his tireless example. His six children, fifteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a sister, Jean Burke and friends ranging from the young to old who enjoyed his hospitality and verve survive him. God has touched this man and we know he is in heaven reunited with Peggy and the Lord. Memorial Mass at St Thomas More Catholic Church Oceanside, CA on December 14, 2012 , 11:00 a.m.
