LAWRENCE MICHAELS

Michaels, Lawrence Joel,

86, of Seal Beach California, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 30th, 2012 at the Country Villa Healthcare Center in Seal Beach.

Lawrence was born in Los Angeles California on May 1st, 1926 to Bertie and Hyman. He grew up in Los Angeles and was a graduate from Manual Arts High School in Los Angeles. He proudly served our country and the Navy in the Pacific during World War II and later was honorably discharged.

Lawrence was married to wife Esther on June 20th, 1948; they were happily married 64 years and resided in Seal Beach for over 43 years.

Lawrence worked for Ford as a mechanic and service manager for over 30 years. Upon retirement he became an active volunteer with the City of Seal Beach Police Department Citizens on Patrol for 5 years for which he received accommodations for his volunteer service. He greatly enjoyed spending time with family and friends, being near the ocean, coaching Little League baseball, and being a respected and supportive neighbor.

Lawrence is survived by his wife and best friend, Esther; sons, Jeff and his wife Agatha Michaels of Chino Hills, David and his wife Bonnie Michaels of Chino Hills; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Brandon Michaels, Brandon Sewell, Valerie Doyle; 5 (soon to be 6) great- grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
