Goldstein, Rhoda, 83, died Monday June 2 after many years of suffering from COPD. She was in her home surrounded by her loving husband Edward and their four children.
Rhoda was born to the late David and Lilian Gordon, November 13, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY. She attended Lawrence High School, Goucher College and the University of Michigan
. She fell in love and married Edward Goldstein in 1950. Shortly after marrying they moved to the San Francisco area before relocating to their home in Fullerton in 1958.
Rhoda spent her life caring for her husband and four children. After her children were grown, Rhoda returned to college to complete her Bachelor of Science in Anthropology at Cal State Fullerton. She also took up painting. Many of her oil paintings have been displayed in art shows where she has won awards and received much recognition from her art community. Rhoda was kind, loving and caring and will be missed by those whose lives she touched.
Rhoda is survived by her husband, Edward; her daughter, Linda and husband John Havard, and their children Jeffrey Kunert, Megan Havard and Drew Havard; her daughter, Ellen and husband, Gary Brennglass, and her children Talie and Ben Tamir, Michelle Goldring and Daniel Goldring; her daughter, Ruthie and husband Mark Smith, and her children Jeremy and Jill Erb, Lindsey Erb and Lauren Erb; her son, Michael and wife Renee, and their two children David and Dana Goldstein. She is also survived by her three great grandchildren, CJ and Liza Erb and Guy Tamir.
We want to thank all the nurses, doctors and private care -givers who had a part in Rhoda's life.
There will be a private funeral service on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to The Betty Ford Center Foundation or the St. Jude Medical Center.
