Ruby Netzley Obituary

Netzley, Ruby, passed away July 20, 2014 at the age of 90. She died peacefully attended by her daughter Barbara. Ruby goes to join her beloved husband, Hal Netzley. Ruby is also preceded in death by her parents, Hurbert and Pearl Marcia and her two younger brothers, Lee Roy and Bobby Jack.

Ruby was born in Ellis, Texas and is the oldest of 3 children. Ruby and Hal married in 1944.

Ruby had a long and very successful career with Southern California Edison.

After retirement Ruby served on the Dana Point City Council in 1997 thru 2000.

In 1999 Ruby served as the Mayor of Dana Point. Also, 1999 the City of Dana Point celebrated the 10 year anniversary of "cityhood", where Mayor Netzley called for "…..joy in our city for the next ten years and more".

Ruby was also a member of the Dana Point Woman's Club.

Ruby was an active and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and for a time served on the Church's local Public Relations Committee.

Ruby had a love of travel and took many wonderful and exciting trips around the world. She also had a love of Family History. Spending hours searching and connecting her family members together. Ruby was also a big supporter of the Boy Scouts of America

Services for Ruby will be held on July 28th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Alicia Building 28291, Alicia Parkway, Laguna Niguel at 11:00am.

In luie of flowers, please make a donation to the Dana Point Ward Boy Scout Troup # 730 .
