I grew up with F.J in Kaysville. He was one of my best friends. In 1945 at the end of WW II, he was my "best man" when I married Helen Smith in Salt Lake City. After that, we lost track of each other, and I finally learned about his life and death from this obituary. Reading it was a sad and nostalgic experience. Sometime I would like to meet Kari and the family.

Dear Kari: Dorothy and I would like to express our kindest condolences to you and the entire Sheffield family at this time of grief.
I considered Fred my best friend while attending the University of UtAh. He was the best all around athlete that I have ever played with or competed against. He was a kind and gentle giant. Love to you for taking such good loving care of your husband and our friend when he needed you the most. Herb and Dorothy Wilkinson

Fred Sheffield was one of the few "good men" we've known. Respected as an Officer, admired as an athlete, and an accomplished physician - and most Blessed in the Love and care of his wife Kari. Our sympathy and prayers to the family.

My deepest condolences to the whole family. Fred was a tremendous athlete and his athletic records speak for themselves. He really was a legend and it is doubtful anyone will ever equal them. Martin Donaldson

Kari, We express our condolence to you and all of the family with the passing of Uncle Fred. We really enjoyed hearing about his life stories when my siblings (Sheffields) gathered at our house in Chino Hills a few years ago...
