Hartley, Helen Rosker

Formerly of Corona del Mar and San Marino, California, Helen peacefully died on January 29th at the age of 96. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth R. Hartley (1998). She was born in Wymore, Nebraska, and was the first in her family to attend college, graduating with high honors from the University of Nebraska. Moving west to Los Angeles, she was a senior administrator in the personnel department of Standard Oil Company. In 1943, she married Kenneth and devoted her life to raising a family. She was the beloved mother of Thomas Hartley, of Pittsburgh, PA, Dennis Hartley of Eugene, OR and Stephen Hartley of Vancouver, WA; proud grandmother of four granddaughters and seven great grandchildren.

Helen spent the majority of her life living in Southern California, before spending her last 15 years in the Northwest. She will be greatly missed by many close family and friends who admired her competitive spirit, leadership skills, positive attitude and never ending love of life. She believed life was a gift to be cherished, and she lived her life to take advantage of the opportunities given to her.
