Alcala, Amancio (nicknames Al and Monch), was born 3/28/32 in Santa Monica, CA. He passed away October 25, 2009 in Carlsbad where he retired. He will be missed by his loving companion, Della and her daughter, Alissa, and son, Erik. He has been a loving and caring friend and grandfather to 6 grandchildren. They are Dana, Kate, Evan, Nathan, Amanda and Leah. Surviving relatives include: Brother,Arthur Alcala and 6 sisters. Antonia, Angelina, Anita, Alice, Aurora and Armenda. Monch was a special uncle and friend to his many nieces and nephews. Al joined the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. He returned to Santa Monica and attended Santa Monica College and UCLA. He lived most of his adult life in O.C., and was a founder and CEO of 2 computer related companies MST and Byte Images. He was also a consultant in that field. Al was an avid basketball fan, he enjoyed golf, traveling, and visiting with the grandchildren. A Memorial service celebrating Al's life will be held at: 2 Siega, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA 92688 on Friday, Dec. 4th 2009 at 12 noon. Please wear casual attire.
