ANDREW LAWRENCE SPEAR

ANDREW SPEAR Obituary

Spear, Andrew Lawrence, born April 4, 1989, passed away in his sleep on December 23, 2010. The cause is yet unknown. He is survived by his mother and father, Lauren and Larry Spear. Andrew attended Mater Dei High School, and continued his education at Cross Creek Academy where he graduated. He attended Rancho Santiago College after graduating from Cross Creek Academy. He was 21 years young. Andrew had a passion for life. He excelled at in-line skating, snowboarding, Tae Kwon Do, and baseball. He was named Pitcher of the Year on his Mater Dei baseball team during his sophomore year. He won many Tae Kwon Do tournaments including double gold at the California State Junior Olympics. He loved having fun with friends, enjoyed music and movies, and just "kicking it." He could always be counted on for making his friends and family laugh with his photographic memory of classic movie scenes and lines. Memorial services for Andrew are on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Yorba Linda, CA at 1:30 p.m. with a celebration of Andrew's life to be held at the Spear home in Yorba Linda following the service. Andrew will be interred on Monday, January 3, 2011 at Loma Vista Memorial Park in Fullerton, CA at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to D.A.R.E. America, P.O. Box 512090, Los Angeles, CA 90051 in memory of Andrew.

To the Spear family---I am very sorry for your loss. You don't know me but we bought and lived in the house you are in, in 1992 and lived in it for 6 yrs. All your neighbors are our friends. I am also an alumni of Mater Dei....my heart aches for you and I want you to know that I am praying for you daily.....God bless all of you!!

I am so sorry for your loss. ( I am Dimitri's Aunt by proxy...) It is hard to find the words. Know that he and Dimitri are together now, being goofy. The world has lost another great young man.

Larry & Lauren,

Darlene and I were very sorry to hear of your loss.

Andrew made an impact on everyone he met, including us. We enjoyed spending time with him whether it was on the baseball field or on the mountain.

I vividly remember Andrew on the mound in his Mater Dei uniform taking it to the other team! (well most of the time). But my most laughable memory is of three boys getting sick in the back of my Hummer after Andrew got car sick riding up the mountain.

Yes, the memories will remain, and the young man will be missed!

Please know your son's memory will always remain with us, and with our son.

Larry & Lauren, the service was really nice. This is my favorite picture of the guys at prom. I took several shots of them all proper and at the end I said “now do something silly” and of course they did! Andrew will be missed and remembered by many. Karen Lomeli (Smith).
