Dad created many great memories, from his piloting his Cherokee 180 into a fighter-like swoop toward another private aircraft to his enjoying waves crashing over the raft in Colorado's Browns Canyon. He sought adventure and the smiles that returned after the events.
Sadly, we thought he would make it home after the surgery. But Dad's heart was as tired.
As his health declined and the doctor's warnings rose, it was hard to deny him his unhealthy pleasures; but, that has changed. He now can enjoy his spirits, malts, sundaes, pancake soup (he loved syrup) and cheeseburgers all he wants.
His footprint in the house was large. It is now quiet. The silence rings of his absence and his well-deserved rest.
Dad was a friend as well as a father. I miss you, Dad.

Mike always asked if we'd 'Done any Flying Lately?' - we always think of him when we fly - and of his infectious grin.
To him, we were the Air Force couple. We miss him too!

Bye Dad. You gave us courage, strength and ability to see the humor in it all.
Enjoy all the ice cream you want.
