Bill was born in Long Beach, California on December 27, 1931 to Bill and Irene Mayer. He passed away of natural causes on April 14. Bill graduated from Glendale High School and after serving in the Air Force, he graduated from UCLA. During his high school years he played basketball and baseball. He was captain of the basketball team during his senior year. He was a pitcher on the baseball team and won awards for his accomplishment. He also played baseball at UCLA as a center fielder for three years. Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed playing golf and tennis. He worked for several steel companies, two of which were General Pipe & Supply, and MacSteel. He was sales manager for each of them. He is survived by his wife, Loween; his son, Jim Mayer; and daughter, Nanette Stimson. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Michael and Lauren Mayer and Erin and Kerrie Stimson.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 4 at 11:00a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 838 N. Euclid in Fullerton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the
