Dorothy took me under her wing as a new teacher, taught me everything to do a great job with my First Graders. Though I only taught for 8 years, I was fortunate to keep in touch and see Dorothy over the years. She was one in a million, I feel lucky to have known and been friends with her. I do so often think of her and am glad to have seen her early this year,... who could ever forget her sweet smile and loving ways.....Fran Brayton

Dorothy was such a good friend to me when I first joined the Hansen School staff.I had so many questions and she was always there to help, smiling, and making each day a joy. I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Dorothy's death. Dorothy was a wonderful friend and teacher. For many years I have valued the friendship, kindness, and thoughtfulness. Friends like Dorothy are few in life. I will treasure the memories I had with Dorothy. Her smile and sense of humor will always be remembered. MY thoughts and prayers go out to the family at this difficult time.

I have such fond memories of teaching with Dorothy back at the old Savanna
Elementary School and at Hansen School.
After we both retired I enjoyed so much
our lunch get-togethers at Mimi's and
later at the Claim Jumper. We would
talk and laugh away the afternoon.
Dorothy had a wonderful sense of humor.
She will be sorely missed!

I didn't know Dorothy but I graduated from Lakewood H.S. with her son Tim Jr. and was shocked when I heard of his passing back in July. My prayers go out to the entire family at this time.

I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for the strength and determination to see past challenge, rather than stare at it, that my grandmother taught me through her life. I will be forever greatful to have had such a wonderful grandmother to have shared my love with. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten...

In addition to her own large family, Aunt Dorothy was always a much loved substitute mom to her sister Geri's girls, Doni and Des who were just teenagers when their dad and mom died. She also took on the roll of grandmother to Doni's sons, Sam and Jason. She will be greatly missed.
