Obituary Condolences

Brower, Edgar S., born July 21, 1930 in Enid, Oklahoma, died in his sleep at his home in Corona Del Mar on May 1, 2013. Ed, the son of Ann (Lyne) and Edgar Brower, Sr. grew up in Alva, Oklahoma. He served in the Army Airborne during the Korean War, earning the rank of First Lieutenant. In August of 1958 he married Pauline York; and they had been married for 54 years when Pauline passed away in May of 2012. Ed is survived by their four daughters; Leah Jones, Cydnee White, Kimberly Brower Keilbach, and Kelley Garcia Brower, as well as six grandchildren; Ben York Jones, Mark Keilbach, Paul Keilbach, Dan Keilbach, Samuel Early, and Maya Garcia-Brower. Ed graduated from USC with a degree in Industrial Engineering, and went on to have a career in upper level management which included production and installation of communication equipment for the NASA space program, an appointment as Assistant Post Master General during which he designed and built all of the U.S. bulk mail centers, and as the CEO and Chairman of the Board of a number of struggling companies in need of being turned around. He was also an active member of the Orange County Business Council for many years. After retirement he was able to spend time on his painting; he was a talented artist who had several art showings in the Orange County area. He also loved playing tennis and did so until shortly before his death. His real focus, however, was his family. His children and grandchildren and their endeavors were of upmost importance to him, as was evident by his presence at numerous basketball and volleyball games, swim meets, plays, films, music recitals, and birthday parties!
