EVERETT PEARCE

Obituary Condolences

EVERETT PEARCE Obituary
Pearce, Everett,

I was born on November 21st, 1923 at 8:00 PM at 211 N. Lemon Street, Orange, CA. I am dead.

It all started around 8:00 PM when someone whacked me on the butt, and I gasped my first breath. In about 6 months I was in Costa Mesa, which was the first of many moves.

My father was a cement contractor until an injury caused him to lose interest, and we moved to Oklahoma where he worked in the oil fields. My mother was a homemaker and took care of the family.

Fast forward to WWII, during which I trained as a pilot, gunner, and bombardier. Out of the Army Air Corps, I met Reba Dean Pierce, my future wife. We were married in 1948. I did cement work, drove taxis, bought a dump truck (big mistake), and went to work for the City of Santa Ana in 1949. Another man and I built many of the parks in the city: Memorial, Prentice, Alona, etc… I was a Reserve Police Officer for the City of Santa Ana for 11 years. I retired from the city after 29 years to devote my full time to Rainbow Pool Service, which I started up and continued to operate during weekends while working for the city. I cleaned pools for 35 years, until I quit to take care of my wife, Reba, who had become disabled. She passed away in January 2010 after 61 wonderful years of marriage. In my spare time over the years, I restored 4 vintage Ford cars: 3 Model "T's" and 1 Model "A." I now leave to continue my journey with Reba, the love of my life.

My service will be held at Fairhaven Memorial Park & Mortuary, 1702 Fairhaven Avenue, Santa Ana, CA 92705 on Friday, March 1st, 2013 at 10:00 AM. www.fairhavenmemorial.com
