FRANCES SMITH Obituary

Smith, Frances Rose Ann, age 79, passed away on December 22, 2010. Frances was born on March 9, 1931 in Cherokee, Iowa to Benjamin and Frances (Shatava) Peterson. Frances was the oldest of 6 children. She grew up and attended school in Sanborn, Iowa where she met and married Gaylord Smith. Together they had five children, Robert, Susan Branson, Michael, Patricia and Thomas. In the early 60's they moved their family to Anaheim, California. Frances was an excellent homemaker and was a strong supporter in all of her children's sport programs. She served as team chaperone and board member for the East Anaheim Bobby Sox league for many years. Later in her life she was a great fan of the Anaheim Angels. Frances is survived by her brother, David Peterson of San Francisco, and her sister, Betty Morgan of Omaha, as well as her five children and seven grandchildren. Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 12:00 pm at St. Anthony Claret Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery. Hilgenfeld Mortuary

Frances and her family were respected neighbors and friends since the early 1970's. Our children are friends, and her death is a sad loss to our neighborhood.
