Great man of God. He was my mission President 1988-1990. I will never forget him and his ability to lead with a gentle but firm resolve to follow the our Savior. He found ways to connect with us at our young age and relate. Rest in peace President Barlow.

I just found early morning about Brother Barlow's departure. I still remember Brother Barlow in his jeans and denim shirt, his bright smile and gray hair. Howard Barlow taught me work values and perseverance...we worked together in many home projects and always found a way to share spiritual insights as we labour together. He opened his home to a stranger, fed him, provided shelter and love. It's been almost 27 years since the last time I saw Brother Barlow but his teachings, example and tenacity remain in my heart. It my sound cliche, but a man is remembered by the number of hearts /lives he has helped changed..I am one of those - I am sure one of many who were impacted by "el Hermano" Barlow. I have a great eternal companion, Evelyn. I met her at the Temple - where we served as Temple workers. I have 2 beautiful daughters: Ku'ulei (16 yrs) and Pualena (13 yrs)..Brother Barlow THANKS for all you did for me, for the great and positive influence you continue to be in my life and for opening your heart to a stranger. THANKS for introducing me to the American way and showed me that hard, honest work can help anyone to reach your dreams/goals. You left a vast legacy and although we are not blood related I am honored to have been part of your family...Til we meet again...Julio Cesar Caceres

Dear Dell Marie, Our hearts are full with sadness after receiving the answer from John to our e-mail that we sent yesterday evening. If we had known of Howard's passing we would have been there to share our love and strength with you. We send our love to you and your family and pray that you will gain strength in knowing that he is now healthy and with out pain. We will always remember our day together a few months ago, and the many months we shared together at the MTC in the Philippines. Love to you, Ralph and Lee
