JO ANN MCCARTHY PHILBIN LENAHAN

Lenahan, Jo Ann McCarthy Philbin 1929 - 2010 JoAnn Lenahan, age 81, wife of Joseph Lenahan, died peacefully surrounded by her children and family on September 13, 2010. JoAnn spent her formative years in Akron, Ohio as one of six daughters of John and Molly McCarthy. She completed her Registered Nurses training at Saint Thomas Hospital in Akron, in 1950. She married John J. Philbin (predeceased) in 1952 and later settled in Southern California. JoAnn is survived by five sisters, four children, eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Later in life, she was lucky enough to find a second love and family in the Lenahan clan. A lifelong Registered Nurse, she was committed to her Irish heritage, her family, and her profession. She enjoyed a long and supportive career working with physicians and staff at Valencia Mesa Medical Group in Fullerton. Loved by many, she will be deeply missed by her family. Funeral Mass will be offered 9/18/2010 at 10 am at St. Phillip Benizi Catholic Church in Fullerton. Donations, in lieu of flowers should be directed to St. Jude Hospital Palliative Care Service or Hospital Foundation.
