Marion Deeb Obituary

Deeb, Marion R., 5/7/35 - 10/2/10, also known as "Sitto Marni" to her grandchildren, was born in East Los Angeles on May 7, 1935. She passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2010 in Los Angeles, California. She was 75 years old. Marion was married to the late Dr. Edward Deeb, Sr. She is survived by her six children, Caren, Edna, Danice, Gina, Jeanice, and Edward, her six grandchildren, Nicole, Danielle, Anthony, Marina, Edward George, and Elias; her sons-in-law, Robert and Walid, her daughter-in-law, Louise, her devoted sister, Deanna and brother-in-law Richard, and many sisters and brothers-in law. Marion was a proud student at Roosevelt High School in East L.A. and attended L.A.C.C. She was a founding member of St. Michael Antiochian Orthodox Church and an active member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral. Along with her husband, Marion owned and operated an investment and property management company. Marion lived in the San Fernando Valley for most of her life and was a proud Angelena. Her greatest joys were her family, friends, church, and charitable work. Marion loved people. She was known for her gracious and generous entertaining. Her home was a gathering place for many. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to any of the following: 1. St. Michael Antiochian Orthodox Church 16643 Vanowen St., Van Nuys, CA 91406. 2. USC Norris Cancer Center, Dept of Hematology, 1441 E. Lake Ave, L.A., CA 90033 3. St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral, 2300 W. 3rd St., L.A., CA 90057 The services will be held at St. Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral (address above) on Wednesday, October 6, at 7pm and graveside Thursday, October 7, at 12:30pm at Pacific View in Corona del Mar.

Our sincere sympathy to all the family of Marion. We are truly sorry to hear of her passing, but more sad to hear of her recent suffering. May God keep her in His Kingdom forever. My family and I go a long way back as my grandmother and "Uncle" Sam and "Aunt "Amelia lived on the same street in East Los Angeles.When we would go visit Sitti. My brother sister and I would go play with Marion and Deanna. I will always have fond memories of Marion.

Aunt Marion was truly an Angel on earth with her beauty, love, caring, open arms, open home and open heart. You were never alone or lonely because of her generosity, kindness and love of God and people. She will be missed greatly, but I know her wonderfulness and beauty will live on in her beautiful children and grandchildren. May Her Memory Be Eternal. God Bless.
