Georgantas, Panos D., died peacefully at his home on December 23, 2012.

Panos was born in Greece on July 18, 1930. Having finished high school in Greece he moved to New York where he attended university and earned his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from Columbia University graduating in 1958.

He moved to California in the early sixties and was a resident of Newport Beach for many years. Panos was an executive engineer and during his career he was very much a part of the early microchip research and development where on many occasions he worked on sensitive and developmental defense projects.

He was always mindful of his civic duties and served on the Orange County Grand Jury in 2005-2006. Always proud of his heritage, he also served as VIP liaison and interpreter during the Athens Olympics in 2004. He was loved and respected by family and many friends. He will be terribly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Maxine; his son, Dimitri, daughter in law, Jennifer; and grandchildren, Cassie and Panos.
