Richard Hain Obituary

Hain, Richard H., 89, born 11-27-20 in Davenport, Iowa, died 9-21-10 in Placentia, CA. He was preceded in death by his wife (Ruth) of 60 years. He is survived by 3 children: Rick (Dory) Hain of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Debbie Pinney of Seattle, WA. Steve (Gloria) Hain of Anaheim Hills, CA.; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, and 1 brother. He served with distinction in the Army in the Pacific during WWII as well as in Korea. Resident of Garden Grove for 55 years where he was active in many organizations and charities, most significantly Acacia Adult Day Care Center. He was a principal and administrator in the Garden Grove School District for over 30 years. Upon his retirement, he served 13 years as a member of the Garden Grove Unified School District Board. A Celebration of his Life will be held Saturday, Oct., 2nd at 1:00 p.m. at Acacia Adult Day Care Center, 11391 Acacia Pkwy., Garden Grove, CA. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Acacia Adult Day Care Center.

I'll always remember Mr. Hain and his wry sense of humor. A gentle man. Loved the time I got to go camping with the family in the Sierras. I'll miss him, too. One of the last WWII vets, he and my father were a rare breed.
