Robert F. Carmack

Carmack, Robert F., 85, passed away on March 1, 2010 at his home in Fountain Valley. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, Bob served three years in the United States Army, 1st Cavalry Division, during World War II. He was awarded numerous medals and citations, including two Bronze Stars, for combat in the Philippines and Pacific Theatre. He has been a resident of Fountain Valley since 1968. He worked 21 years as a chemical engineer for CalComp, retiring in 1989. He is survived by his wife of over 61 years, Doris Carmack; 8 children, Sandra (Ron) Cooke of Parker, AZ; Harry (Debbie) of Newport Beach, George (Cindy) of Murietta; Shirley (Mark) Swenson of Coto de Caza, Karen of Irvine, Betty McClelland of Aliso Viejo, Vickie (Mike) Warren of Denver, CO., and Bill (Becky) of Huntington Beach; 19 grandchildren, John, Bob, Pleasance, Dave, Alyssa, Doug, Sarah, Mindy, Matt, Daniel, Amy, Beth, Kristina, Kim, Holly, Scott, Rachel, Jake, and Kyle, and 8 great-grandchildren; Andrew, Blaine, Bryce, Hannah, Colt, Faith, Sean, and Lilly. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. at the Crystal Cathedral Tower of Hope Chapel in the Sky, Garden Grove, CA, with reception immediately following.
