I'm sorry to hear of your father's passing Mary. I hope all the hearts in your family will heal quickly. Seems like just the other day we were walking into his office on Newport Blvd to ask for one thing or another. Now we're the old Costa Mesa people. Love you and your family.

Roy was one of the nicest guys in the whole world. He and my Dad loved real estate and had a wonderful frienship over the years. He had a great sense of humor, always disguising his voice on the phone to make me laugh. My deepest sympathy to his wife and family. R.I.P. Roy

To the family of Mr. McCardle,
The news of Mr. McCardle passing, sadden my heart but put a smile on my face. A sweet memory came to mind, actually many memories from a very long time ago came rushing back. If it was Sunday, Mr. McCardle was at Christ Lutheran Church, first at the American Legion Hall and then when it moved to Victoria Street. He often worked as a greeter and passed the baskets for the offerings.
He not only was involved with each church service, he stuck around to help with Sunday school for the kids. At the beginning of the Sunday school gathering, children who had a birthday could come up front to put pennies into a special box. I really liked doing that and MAY have done it multiple times a year. I always forgot to bring my pennies, but Mr. McCardle was a comfortable target for a "loan". He always smiled and dug into his pocket for me...now I wonder if he came prepared with rolls of pennies.
Roy and Alice were friends with my parents, Helen and "Bus" Cornelius. My mother socialized with them in church and my dad knew and respected Roy in the real estate business. My sister, Barbara and I knew Mary and Ken through Sunday school. I remember admiring and asking Mary about her beautiful tan, she said she used cooking oil. I tried it and got fried.
We will always hold special memories in our hearts of Mr. McCardle, he was so filled with faith, friendly, kind, thoughtful, loved and respected. May all the thoughts, memories and loved he shared, bring you peace and comfort....and keep him close to your hearts forever.
