Wow. This may be strange, and you might not get this, but I think I have been looking for your family. I am a photographer in Oceanside, CA and I purchased a shoebox of old 16mm reels at the swap meet. There are maybe 20 of them. They have mail correspondence to a Thomas P Balent. I have been searching for him on the internet and I think I found his obituary from 1983. I found an earlier obituary from his wife and the names Russell and Steve Balent connected with him. And now this obituary for Russell. There are a couple the reels that are labeled respectively, Russ Homecoming and Steve Homecoming from out 1944 or so. There are many others from a trip to Chaco Canyon, NM to "Aleutian Scenes." Something in me is pushing me to figure this out and that it might mean something to someone. If this is you and I reach you, I hope it does. If not, I am sorry for intruding. Thank you and feel free to write me an email. [email protected]

To Russ Balents family. My name is Ernest Acosta. I worked at Verteq with Russ for ten years in the engineering dept. Russ and I had a good relationship both at work and playing sports after work. I really enjoyed the many times we played tennis even though he was much better and whipped me quite a few times.
I am sorry find news of his passing, he
really deserved to enjoy a long retimement. My sympathy to all.

Dear Patty and Family, Word just reached me via Steve and Maurice that Russ passed away. I am so sorry for your loss and sorry, too, that we cousins are so separated by distance. I would enjoy having your current address. Sending love and hugs, Cousin Karen Miller, Rapid City, South Dakota

Dear Patty and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I look at the paper only and Saturday and Sunday and saw the announcement of your loss of Russel. I have missed seeing you as rarely as we did but I would keep track through Susan Wright. Please contact me when things settle down and lets keep in contact. Face book, Ruthalee Hildreth Wright or [email protected]. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
