Steve's wife gave us a Tshirt that said "Steve's wobbly knees" at an ALS walk 9 years ago. My son was just wearing it yesterday and I was talking about what a special man he was. Love being reminded of him every time he wears it. May his memory continue to be for a blessing!

I worked with Steve at PCEO Intel in the late 1980's. He was such a wonderful person and always had a smile and kind words for everyone. I came across this sad news while looking at the PCEO yearbook. May he rest in peace. Kathy McCabe (Brisbane, Australia)

Steve holds a special place in my heart. I only met him after his diagnosis, and he managed its impact with grace and humor. I am so grateful that he graced my life for a brief time. I will never forget him.

It is hard to identify one best quality about Steve. There were so very many. Tonight, what stands out to me is friendship. Though his circle of friends was large, Steve made sure each knew how important s/he was to him. I treasure my dear friend, Steve

Steve will always have a special place in our hearts - he was a great neighbor and friend and we have wonderful memories of July 4th festivities in the cul-de-sac with the Sall family and time with them in Cannon Beach. Steve was an incredibly kind and generous person and I will always be grateful to him for getting my resume to the right person at Intel. Thank you Steve for all of the wonderful memories and for being such a great role model to the rest of us - teaching us to always give of ourselves to help others. You were the best and will be truly missed.

I'm sorry that Steve left us so early in life. I worked with Steve at the Tualatin Hills Nature Park, (I am retired now). He was a great guy with a wonderful sense of humor. He loved the Nature Park.

At All in One Mobility, we had the great pleasure of knowing Steve over the last few years. It only took minutes before you knew he was a compassionate man with a great sense of humor. My favorite story about Steve was created some time ago...I work the front desk at All in One Mobility. Steve was waiting in the back area while we serviced his vehicle. He was sitting next to a dear client of ours writing notes back and forth (as he is deaf). The phone rang (as it does nonstop) and when I answered Steve said "Hi Christina, it's Steve". I looked up and looked at him- he was only 20 feet away. We smiled and laughed then waved at eachother. Steve said "I'd like to buy this gentleman tires for his powerchair; all the way around." I gasped and asked him if he was sure he wanted to do that as it could be expensive. Steve explained, "Fortunately I am in a position to do this and he needs them desperately; yes, please add it to my bill." Naturally, I was choked up at his random kindness and I was aware of the gentlemans financial state - he would have never been able to do what Steve had done for him... He was very greatful! Steve was a man who proved there are still truly wonderful, inspiring, kind people in our world! It was a pleasure knowing him. Our thoughts are with Terri, who is an amazing dedicated woman herself! On behalf of all the families of students that Steve helped at Aloha HS, please know that we appreciate the hours of dedication he gave to our children. Many would not have succeeded without his assistance. Though words can never express the depth of our gratitude, know that we feel your loss and that we thank the Lord that such a wonderful man was a part of our children's lives.

I never met Steve but have been so touched and inspired by hearing about him from band families and from newspaper articles. What a generous spirit--he would have been a memorable person even if it hadn't been for his selflessness and dedication to others while undergoing his own travails. How privileged his friends and family are to have known him personally--even though I never did, I will never, ever forget him.
