THOMAS COLLACOTT Obituary

Collacott Sr., Thomas Lawrence, 84, passed away November 9, 2010. He is survived by his beloved wife, Karen; daughters, Joanne (Jared) Newman and Theresa Leckey; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Bob Collacott; a large extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by two sons, John Edward Collacott Sr. and Thomas L. Collacott Jr.; father, Edward A. Collacott; mother, Caroline B. Collacott; and brothers, Conner L.Collacott and Allen Collacott. Born in Flint, Michigan on May 7, 1926, Tom was a WWII Navy Veteran who was proud to say he had served in every sea and every continent. He was a 50-year Westminster resident and a dedicated civil servant. Tom, a man of integrity, refused to compromise, was always ready to champion a cause and would not hesitate to defend the weak, or right a wrong. Tom was especially proud of his distinguished aerospace career as a Proposal/Pricing/Negotiator. He never missed an opportunity to share details of his many experiences as the Head Negotiator for the Space Shuttle Program or to speak of his many encounters with the astronauts. Tom's bigger-than-life personality included a great sense of humor and a deep love for children. Not surprising, his adventurous spirit also included an abundance of hobbies which, to name a few, included a love of flying, any athletic activity, travel, genealogy research, Mathematics, cutting edge technology and, of course, dancing across the globe with his most beloved bride of 31 years. Loving husband, father, family man and friend, Tom will always remain close in our hearts and never be forgotten. Our love and gratitude for him will forever run deep!
