Dr. Thompson was a beloved friend of our family for many years. My father, Joel Winkler, was a C&MA pastor in the South Pacific District when Dr. Thompson was District Superintendent. I remember Dr. Thompson preaching at family camp at Prescott Pines. Most recently he would often visit my mother (as well as many other) when she was in assisted living at Town and County Manor.
