King, Leila Olive went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on June 13, 2014. She was born on July 2, 1927 in Georgetown, British Guiana (now Guyana) in South America and was one of six children of Cyril Lloyd and Mabel De Paolitti Mittelholzer. She is survived by two of her sisters, June Hogg of Edinborough, Scotland and Eileen Westerbaan of St. Croix. Leila was predeceased by her husband, Jackson R. King and is survived by her five children, Carole Schiessel (Klaus) of Riverside, Peggy-Marguerite McIntyre of Yorba Linda, John Rogers (Joannie) of Poway, Jeffrey Rogers and Patricia King, both of Anaheim, CA. Leila was the proud grandmother of ten and great-grandmother of 12.

Leila's childhood included a parochial school education, piano lessons and a spot on the women's high school field hockey team. Her love and talent for music and sports were passed on to her children and grandchildren. Leila immigrated to the United States in 1949 and lived in Rhode Island for five years before moving to Long Beach, California in 1955. Leila and Jack moved to Anaheim in 1964 and lived in the same house until their passing. Leila and Jack enjoyed many years in bowling leagues together and did some traveling to St. Croix, Trinidad and Hawaii. Through God's saving grace, Leila received Christ and was baptized at Magnolia Baptist Church on May 18, 1975 and she has cherished the fellowship of its members ever since. Leila studied and became a citizen of United States on September 19, 1980. She spent her later years helping and praying for her family and friends, reading scripture and rooting for her beloved Lakers. Leila will always be remembered for her love of family, kindness, generosity, and will be missed by all.

Funeral services will be held at Magnolia Baptist Church, 720 S. Magnolia Ave, Anaheim, CA 92804 on Friday, June 20 2014. Viewing at 9:45 A.M. and service begins at 10:00 A.M.
