Obituary Condolences

Lavey, William "Bill", 81, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday July 29, 2009.Bill touched the lives of many and was beloved by all. Family members called Bill " the Snapple of mankind" because he was made with the finest ingredients on earth. Bill was born on January 25, 1928 in Brooklyn, New York. He was a proud veteran of WWII. Serving in Germany after the occupation. Bill married Judy Montross in 1973 and raised his family on Long Island, New York until 1977. Bill, Judy and their five children picked-up and moved, that year, to beautiful Southern California. They started " William H. Lavey and Associates" roofing company. The company became very successful and eventually came to be called "Lavey Roofing Services". Bill was a highly respected member of the Southern California business community. Retirement was spent in a beautiful home in Santa Ysabel in what Bill called "our best years." Bill eventually moved to Julian after his beloved Judy passed. Bill was predeceased by Judy in April 2007. He is survived by sons, Glenn Lavey (Huntington N.Y.), Richard Lavey (San Marcos CA.), Charlie Montross (South Africa), James Montross (Laguna Niegel CA.), Dave Montross (Valley Center CA.), Billy Montross (Colorado Springs CO.) and daughter: Ann Marie Quinones ( Vista CA.). He is also survived by son-in-law. Steve Quinones (Ann Marie); daughters-in-law, Shelley Lavey (Glenn), Christie Montross (James), Toni Montross (Dave), Kip Montross (Billy). Bill is also survived by twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild. A celebration of William H. Lavey's life will take place at the: Eternal Hills Mortuary 1999 El Camino Real Oceanside, CA. 92054 (760-754-6600) on Saturday August 8, 2009 - 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to " Doctors without borders". http://doctorswithout borders.org/
