Anderson, Hilmer, |
85, peacefully passed on Sunday October 7, 2012 in Mission Viejo, California.
Hil was born in Lyons, Kansas on July 28, 1927. He grew up in the small Kansas town with his brother, Richard. Hil went on to play football at Kansas State and joined the Navy. He was a great lover of Big Band music and, much to his delight, was able to tour around as a extra on some of those Big Bands' tours. Hil would tell his godson, Mingo, many stories about those days with a smile.
Hil then moved to California and married his wife Helen on October 12, 1951. Hil worked and retired from Rockwell Industries. After retirement, Hil kept himself busy working at "Hil's Grill" at the Cherry Creek Golf Course and, of course, golfing. He also volunteered on the sidelines for Mission Viejo High School Football Team and spent time on the team bus traveling to games.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen, and by his godson, Mingo Lee; as well as family in Kansas and Wisconsin. Hilmer is reunited with his recently departed brother, Richard.
