Christensen, Betty, was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 14, 1924. She graduated from Northwestern University and went into the advertising field which she enjoyed immensely, serving as a media buyer. In 1957, she moved to Sierra Madre, California when she married Nick Argy, who passed away in 1985. She was active in community affairs and served as president of the Sierra Madre Auxiliary of the Crippled Children's Guild of Orthopedic Hospital of Los Angeles. She was also a member of the View of Hope Chapter of the City of Hope. In 1992, she married Ted Christensen, and they made their home in Bradbury, California. Through Ted's affiliations with the Structural Engineers Society, she had the opportunity to meet and become good friends with the wonderful women in the Structural Engineers' Auxiliary. She was active in the group and served as treasurer for a number of years.|
In 2006, Betty and Ted moved to Laguna Woods, where they enjoyed many activities and made many new friends. They traveled extensively, attended many cultural events and felt that they were on a perpetual vacation in their new surroundings.
Betty is survived by her loving husband, Ted and her daughter, Stephanie Argy. She also felt very fortunate to have her sister Diana Bicouvaris's children in her life: Jim Bicouvaris, Steve Bicouvaris and his late wife Vicki, Susan Stephanos and her husband George, Michelle Bicouvaris, and all their beautiful children and grandchildren.
