REV. PATRICK J. (MICHAEL) DONOVAN Obituary
Donovan, Rev. Patrick J. (Michael), O.S.M. was a Servite Friar of the United States of America Province. He was born to Patrick and Julia (Cullinane) Donovan on March 7, 1927 in Vancouver, British Columbia. He entered the Servite Order at Mt. St. Philip (Granville, WI) on 22 August 1948. He was ordained to the priesthood in Chicago, IL on May 15, 1955. Father Patrick was a priest for 57 years and worked in Catholic education for 31 years. He taught at St. Philip Basilica High School (Chicago, IL), and Servite High School (Anaheim, CA). He was principal of Servite High School from 1988 to 1991. From 1992-2012, he served in the parishes of St. Philip Benizi and St. Juliana Falconieri and as Newman Chaplain at California State University, Fullerton. For the past year, he has resided at Irvine Cottages. He died peacefully at St. Joseph Hospital, (Orange, CA ). He is survived by his brother, John F. Donovan (wife: Perla) and his sister, Kathleen E. Kleinen (husband: Rae); 3 nephews, Paul, Dan and Patrick; 1 niece, Linda Orvick and 10 great nephews and nieces. Vigil Service; with viewing starting at 7:00 PM, followed by the Office of the Dead at 7:30 PM on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at St. Juliana Falconieri Church, Fullerton. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 4, 2013 also at St. Juliana Falconieri Church, Fullerton. Interment to follow at 1:00 PM at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Orange McAulay & Wallace Mortuary
