GORDAN HADLEY CANTONWINE

Obituary Condolences

GORDAN HADLEY CANTONWINE Obituary
Cantonwine, Gordan Hadley, of Huntington Beach passed away on February 20, 2013 following his 13-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Gordan was born in Seattle, Washington on January 24, 1930 to Gordon and Margaret Hadley. His lifelong passion of photography was discovered when he was just a young boy. A born entrepreneur, he opened his first photography studio while still in high school. To further his knowledge, Gordan enlisted in the Navy as a photographer during the Korean War. His first assignment was on the aircraft carrier Oriskany. After five years of service, Gordan left the military to pursue a film career in Hollywood. The entrepreneurial spirit never left Gordan, and he worked for himself until his retirement in 2004. In 1960, Gordan married the love of his life, Beverly, and together they raised a family of five children: Chris, Joy, Linda, John and Tom. The love of travel that started during his Navy career continued with Beverly. Together, they visited numerous countries. Friends, children and grandchildren often accompanied them on these trips and made memories that will be cherished. When it came to his family, no accomplishment was too small to be celebrated and no challenge too great to be conquered. He was our steadfast champion and supporter. Gordan is preceded in death by daughter Joy and grandson Chad. He is survived by his wife, Beverly; daughters, Chris Carter and Linda (Dave) Henry; sons, John and Tom (Jill); grandchildren, Ricky, Michael, Ryan, Chloe, Jordan, Tanner, Griffin, Caitlin; and great-grandchildren, Topper, Beau, Reid and Marlow. His presence will be greatly missed by us all. The funeral has been scheduled for March 5, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Saints Simon and Jude Church, 20444 Magnolia St., Huntington Beach, CA 92646. Internment immediately follows at Pacific View Memorial Park, 3500 Pacific View Dr., Corona del Mar, CA 92625. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hirschberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, in memory of Gordan Cantonwine, would be welcomed: http://www.pancreatic.org/fund/gordan_cantonwine
