CLIFFORD A. LARSEN Obituary
Larsen, Clifford A., age 95, a long-time resident of La Habra, California, died on March 23, 2013, after a brief illness. He was born in Duluth, Minnesota on February 15, 1918, son of Clifford N. and Ethel (Sandin) Larsen. He attended the University of Minnesota. He was employed during World War II at Clyde Iron Works in Duluth, MN. After moving to St. Louis, MO in 1955, he advanced to a number of executive and sales marketing positions in his lifetime. He was happiest, however, introducing and selling pressure cookers for National Presto Industries in the Upper Midwest and New England during the late forties and early fifties.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Jessup Larsen. He is also survived by his three children, Clifford K. (Marsha) Larsen of Santa Fe, NM, Lance R. (Becky) Larsen of Irvine, CA and Deborah A. (Monte DeClue) Larsen of St. Louis, MO; three step daughters, Roberta Jessup, Margaret Jessup and Frances (Ray) Cross; his sister-in-law, Frances Stafford; his five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandchild, Emily Larsen Stoll; his wife of 44 years, Thelma Van Zile Larsen; and brother, Robert W. Larsen.

Clifford was an avid fisherman, making his last visit into the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in Minnesota at the age of 85, with his life-long friend and cousin, Kenneth Anderson. He rarely missed the opening of deer season in Minnesota, getting his last deer on a solo hunt at the age of 92. He holds the hunting world record for the 8th largest European moose taken while in Sweden. He shared his love of the outdoors with his children.

He will always be remembered for his common sense, practical wisdom, sense of humor and love of family.

A memorial service will be held at the La Habra United Methodist Church, 631 N. Euclid, La Habra, California 90631 on Saturday, April 13 at 1 o'clock. A family and friends Celebration of Life is planned for 11 o'clock on July 13, 2013 at Park Hill Cemetery, 2500 Vermilion Rd., Duluth, Minnesota 55803.
