RICHARD M. GUAJARDO Obituary
Guajardo, Richard M.

Born on June 22, 1932, Anaheim, CA, passed away on April 23, 2013, of natural causes at age 80. Richard was the eldest son of Phillip M. Guajardo and Jessie Guajardo who had two brothers: Henry "Hank" Guajardo and Eddie Guajardo and one sister Esther Sandefur. Born and raised in Anaheim for almost 10 years Mother and Father relocated the family to Santa Ana to be closer to the LTA (Lighter Than Air) blimp hangers that his father helped build during WWII. Attended Willard Junior High School and then graduated from Santa Ana High School class of 1951. Upon graduation from high school enlisted in the U.S. Air Force served in Great Britain and was honorable discharged in 1955. Married in 1960 to Jean McKenzie-Fraser had three children; Ian M. Guajardo, Denise M. Guajardo, and Angus M. Guajardo;Six grandchildren: Jesse Guajardo, Joan Church, Kirby Jean McKenzie-Fraser, Liberty Rose Guajardo, Kayla Shruble, and Phillip S. Guajardo II; and one great-grand daughter Nikki Mathews. Retired from Orange Unified School District with more than 23 years of service. Richard enjoyed reading the OC Register, magazines, and watching the news. Enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, watering the lawn, and growing vegetables. Some of Richard's favorite vacation spots was San Francisco, Sacramento, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, London, Paris, Rome, and Athens. Richard loved, adored and greatly missed the comfort and guidance of his late grandparents John and Ramona Moreno (Placentia) and Sepherino and Aurora Guajardo (San Bernardino). Richard also missed eating at his favorite Mexican restaurant called Louie's Fine Mexican Food owned by his aunt and uncle Louie and Josephine Armendariz.

Viewing, wake, and vigil scheduled for Sunday, April 28th, 4:00 - 8:00 PM, rosary at 7:00 PM, at Brown Colonial Mortuary

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 29th, at 10:00 AM, at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church (Santa Ana)

Burial will be held at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery. Brown Colonial Mortuary
