WILLIAM (BILL) DITMAR Obituary
Ditmar, William (Bill), 82, passed away peacefully at his home in Fullerton Ca., on June 1, 2013 with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joy; son, William Ditmar; daughter, Roxanna Peete; grandson, Daniel Davis; son-in-law, Ken Peete; sister, Teresa Patterson; sister-in-law, Nellie Turner; brother-in-law, Jim Turner as well as many nieces and nephews. Bill was born in Mass. on Sept.9,1930. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Then he worked at Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach, CA. The family moved to Anaheim in 1961, then to Fullerton in 1977. He worked at many side jobs until he discovered he liked finishing concrete. We called it playing in the mud. In 1965 he started his own business. He held C8, A, B and C53 licenses. He worked hard to create the family business. His life was a mixture of hard work, long hours, play hard and enjoy his family. He enjoyed family reunions and loved classic cars. He had a passion for restoring old dilapidated rust buckets of cars, trucks or anything that had wheels attached to them. He would drive to the classic car shows with family and friends to show off his handy work, or go with his buddies down Route 66. He won awards for three of the cars. He would make beef jerky and send it to his grandson, Dan, to wherever the Army sent him. His humor, his infectious smile, kind heart was all just a part of who he was. Bill, you left us too soon.
