One of my favorite childhood memories is my father reading to me from the edition of Robert Louis Stevenson's "A Child's Garden of Verses" with illustrations by Alice and Martin Provensen. Their illustrations were so memorable that I searched for and finally obtained the same edition to read to my own children.
Alice and Martin Provensen were very great artists-- my childhood was greatly enriched because of what they did.
