DeVane, Donald - Orlando  
DeVane, Donald 68, a prominent figure in the Central Florida business and real estate community, died on December 20, 2014, in Winter Park. The cause of the death was Parkinson's Disease. A fifth-generation Floridian born on New Year's Eve 1945 in Coral Gables, DeVane graduated from Coral Gables High School in 1964, where he played on its championship football teams. He graduated from Florida State University in 1968 and was a proud supporter of F.S.U. sports as well as a "Life Loyal Member" of Sigma Chi Fraternity. DeVane married Irene Heropoulos of Miami in 1973, and after living in Atlanta they moved to Winter Park in 1984. DeVane worked in various areas of commercial real estate for more than 40 years and was an owner of VRS Realty Services in Maitland. A Certified Property Manager, he served as president of the Central Florida chapter of the National Association of Office and Industrial Parks and the Maitland Property Owners Association. He was also a founding member of the Sambuca Boys, a gentlemen's sporting society. DeVane was a passionate lover of Florida and the outdoors, who enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends. A devoted husband and father, who treasured his many longtime friendships, he was also a fabulous dancer and a music lover who was known to often take over the microphone at social gatherings and serenade the crowd. In addition to his wife, Irene, DeVane was pre-deceased by his father, Donald L. DeVane, Sr., and son, Donald L. DeVane, III. He is also survived by his mother, Marguerite DeVane, of Charleston, S.C.; a sister, Judy McLaurin (Gill), also of Charleston, and a daughter, Courtney DeVane (Josh Pike). A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on January 3 at All Saints Episcopal Church in Winter Park. Donations can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, www.michaeljfox.org

Davis, Jean 88, of Ocoee, FL passed away on Dec. 24, 2014. She was born on Nov. 15, 1926 in Winter Garden, FL. She was a member of Lake Sherwood Presbyterian Church and the past president of the Junior Service League of Winter Garden. Jean enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf and tennis. Survivors include her beloved husband of 70 years, Blossom; children, Richard and Allison E. Davis; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. Funeral Service will be at 10 am, Sun., Dec. 28 at Woodlawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
