Alicia Mary Foley

Foley, Alicia MaryAlicia Mary Foley, Captain, Navy Nurse Corps Retired, was awarded the Bronze Star with combat "V" for Valor while assigned as the Assistant Chief Nurse at the Naval Hospital DaNang, Vietnam. Capt Foley had a variety of assignments in education, supervision and administration and was as¿signed to medical facilities on the East and West Coasts and the Far East. She retired in 1984 as Nurs¿ing Director at the Naval Hospital in Jacksonville and then served two-terms as the President of the Florida Navy Nurse Corps Association. We knew her as a kind, compassionate, fun-loving nurse and feisty supporter of her nurses and corpsmen. Alicia passed away peacefully with her family at her side on October 5, 2013 in John Knox Village. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday (Oct. 8) 11 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 26 Dogwood Trail, DeBary, FL 32713. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM Tuesday morning at the church.
