Elgin Jerome Black

Black, Elgin Jerome "" passed away at home July 10, 2013 following a yearlong illness. He was born at home in the Liberty Hill Community near Tyler, Texas May 12, 1919. He joined the Army Air Corp November 1939. He is a WWII veteran and continued to serve his country for 30 years. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings of Texas. Also his first wife Nadell Black, and daughter Gale Richardson. He is survived by his wife Shirley J. Black of Winter Park, near-daughter Deanna Randolph of Kissimmee; grandson Lt. Col. Kenneth Chaloux of Yorktown, Va. Also four great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park Sunday July 14 at 2:00 PM. Memorial gifts may be made to Aloma United Methodist Church, WWII Museum, or Fischer House Gainesville.
