Jack Bearsch Obituary

Bearsch, Jack 87, of Winter Park, Florida passed away on July 12th, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on January 13th, 1927 and attended schools there. He graduated from high school in 1944, and then joined the Navy. After his discharge, he attended the University of Arkansas and received his B.S. in Business Administration in 1950. Jack lived in Dallas, Texas for ten years where he served as a financial executive in the life insurance industry. He then spent the next 15 years with a holding company involved in various businesses in different parts of the country. Jack received many honors throughout his career and served on a Board for the International Holding Corporation in Palo Alto, CA with Ronald Reagan in 1965. Jack and his family moved to the Orlando area in 1977 when he and associates acquired Mulford Florida Plants, a wholesale plant nursery business. In 1982 he established J.B. Nurseries which grew and sold gardenias and azaleas. He was a member of several trade associations in Florida and the southeast. He liquidated the business and retired in 2006. Jack enjoyed traveling, playing tennis, and much golf in recent years. He was a member of the Heathrow Country Club and the Burlingame Country Club in Sapphire, North Carolina where he and Lucille spent the summers. He is survived by his wife, Lucille, daughter, Jackie Dickinson (Vance), and their three children; Michael, Julie, and Ryan, and sister Josephine Spillyards and her three children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjielene, and his son, Randy. He was close to Lucille's family; her daughter Mary Susan Roycik (Mark) and her sons Dru and Joel (Jessica) and their children L.J. and Jack, her son Don Saunders, Jr. (Merritt) and their five children. In lieu of flowers, please send any memorials to the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research (http://www.pancreatic.org) or Hospice of the Comforter (http://www.hospiceofthe comforter.org/). A Graveside Service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, July 17th at the Palm Cemetery in Winter Park. Immediately following the graveside service there will be a reception at Winter Park Country Club, 761 Old England Ave., Winter Park.
