James A. Baker

Baker, James A.Baker, James A. age 83, a resident of Winter Garden and the Central Florida area since the 1950's passed away Friday, August 23, 2013 at Health Central Park. Mr. Baker was born February 22 1930 in Luling, Texas. He retired from Seminole County Public Schools in 1992 after working as a Chemistry teacher and school administrator in Orange and Seminole Counties for over 35 years. He served as a deacon at the First Baptist Church of Winter Garden. He was predeceased by his wife, Martha Baker. Survivors include his current wife, Doris Baker; brother Walter Baker, Sr and sister, Betty (Tyson) Menely all of Texas; daughters Jamey Walker of Sanford, FL; Cindy Baker of Ocoee, FL; Lesa Dickey of Winter Garden and son, Mark Thompson of Winter Garden. Mr. Baker has 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The viewing will be held on Tuesday evening, August 27 from 6pm to 8pm at Collison Carey Hand Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 28th at 11:30 am at the First Baptist Church, Winter Garden. More information may be found at www.collisoncareyhand.com.
