Juanita Yarbrough Alston

ALSTON, JUANITA YARBROUGH, of Satellite Beach, Florida, died Friday, September 21 at the age of 94. Born in Cedar Bluff, Mississippi, she married Bob Alston in 1933 and resided in Meridian, Mississippi, Mobile, Alabama (Brookley Field), and Toyko, Japan before moving to Patrick Air Force Base in 1953. When "Colonel Bob" retired from the Air Force (and went to work for Pan Am) in 1967, they built a home in Satellite Beach where she continued to live independently for seventeen years after Bob's passing. She is survived by her son, Robert Phillip Alston, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Jobes Alston; grandson, Robert (Bob) P. Alston, III; nephew, Tom Gwin; niece Carolyn Hammond; cousin, Gloria Roskoski; a grand-nephew and two grand-nieces; and an honorary son, Jorge (Coqui) Guerra. Visitation hours are 5-7PM Tuesday, September 25 at Brownlie-Maxwell Funeral Home in Melbourne. Interment will be in Columbus, MS at the Friendship Cemetery.
