Mario Farina

Farina, Mario - age 92, passed away peacefully on March 15th. He was born in Rome, Italy and immigrated to Jacksonville, FL when he was 14 years old. In 1942 he entered the U.S. Army and served his new country during WWII. After the war he married Dinorah Alonso, moved to Orlando & began working as a building contractor. He joined the Orlando Home Builders Assoc. in 1953 and was an active member for many years. As a singer in the camarata, he performed in many local operas over the years. Mario also enjoyed playing soccer for the Orlando Clippers. In 1980 Mario and his son Victor joined to form Farina and Sons, Inc., where he worked until he retired at the age of 90 in 2012. The devoted patriarch is survivied by his children Lucretia (Gene) Head, Robert (Jenny), Victor (Caron), & Michael (Dawn); grandchildren Andrew, Angela, Alan (Britni), Vincent, Brian, Tori, Paul, Jason, Alexandra, Nicole, & Drew; great grandchildren Maddox and Journi. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 20 from 5-8pm at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 301 NE Ivanhoe Blvd., Orlando FL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 5125 S. Apopka Vineland Rd. Orlando FL; Friday March 21 at 11am.
