84, resident of Orlando Lutheran Towers, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013 of heart failure. Patricia was a loving mother to eleven children, nine surviving, 20 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. She was known as Mom, Grandma Patty and Patty to her friends. She grew up on a farm in Hartington, Nebraska and married Thomas F. Hegert. While in Nebraska, she taught in a one room school house while her husband attended medical school in Nebraska. They came to Orlando in the summer of 1954 for Dr. Hegert's residency and to raise their children. She was very involved in her children's lives. Throughout her life she was involved in several organizations such as: Boy Scouts of America, American Medical Association Auxiliary, the Greater Orlando 600 Club, School Board of Good Shepherd, and others. She also volunteered as a Dividend in the Orange and Seminole County Schools on a weekly basis. Patricia was a member of Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church for over 26 years. Later in life, she moved into the Orlando Lutheran Towers, downtown, and was an active member of the residential community of the Tower and was awarded for her volunteer activities. In addition, she traveled extensively with her friends and to keep in touch with family. To someone who was involved in creating almost as many lives as she touched, she will be sorely missed. The viewing will be held at Baldwin Fairchild Ivanhoe Chapel 301 NE Ivanhoe Blvd Orlando, FL 32804 from 6-8pm Thursday, June 13. Services will be held at Saint Margaret Mary Chapel at 10:00am Friday, June 14.
