William "Bill" Manning

Manning, William "Bill" Lieutenant Manning passed away Thursday, May 16 from injuries sustained in motorcycle accident. He was born in Manchester, Ct. and has lived in the Central Florida Area for many years. Lieutenant Bill Manning served the Kissimmee Fire Department honorably for 11 ½ years. Bill was known throughout Florida as a "firefighter's firefighter". Bill showed his "Pride and Ownership" for the fire service in his enthusiasm for special operations and training. Bill was a lead instructor at the Central Florida Fire Academy. He touched the lives of many in his role as trainer. It was obvious to those who worked with Bill that Kerri, his wife, was the special love of his life. They were together for 15 years. Bill will be badly missed by the fire service community, friends and family alike. Bill is survived by his wife, Kerri M. Manning of Clermont, mother, Linda R. Manning of South Windsor, Ct. sister, Jodi R. Manning of New York, N.Y., brother, Robert A. (Adriana) Manning Jr., nephew, Joshua P. Manning of New Britain, Ct. mother-in-law, C. Michelle Wheelser of Lady Lake, Fl., father in law, Donald C. Wheeler of Lady Lake, Florida. He was preceded in death by his father Robert M. Manning Sr. in 1994. Funeral Services will be held 10 AM Tuesday, At Silver Spurs Arena in Heritage Park. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8:30 PM on Monday at Osceola Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Kissimmee and from 9 am to 10 AM on Tuesday before the services at the Silver Spurs Arena. In lieu of flowers contributions maybe made to the Fallen Fire Fighters Fund.
