Samuel F. Posis

POSIS, SAMUEL F., 76, of Orlando, Florida passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 25, 2011. Sam was born on June 17, 1934 in the Philippines to Fidela Florento and Estanislao Posis. He received a degree in Electrical Engineering from Mapua Institute of Technology in the Philippines. He served in the Submarine Force while in the U.S. Navy for over 20 years until his retirement in 1981. He also served with distinction in the U.S. Postal Service for over 25 years and retired in 2008. Sam was an active member of the Filipino American Veterans Association. He is survived by his daughter, Marietta Levier, her husband John, and three grandsons Kelvin, John Jr. and Matthew; his sisters Mrs. Grace Pura, Mrs. Alice Arfapo, and Mrs. Fem Rivera; his brothers Mr. Carlomagno Posis and Mr. Plaridel Posis; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. Sam will always be remembered for his love, smiles, laughter, warmth, and generosity by all of his relatives and friends. Visitation is on Friday, June 3, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home Ivanhoe Chapel, 301 NE Ivanhoe Blvd, Orlando, Florida. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 4th, 2011 at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church at 4545 Anderson Road, Orlando, Florida. Interment will follow at 11 a.m. at the historic Greenwood Cemetery, 1603 Greenwood Street, Orlando, Florida.
