I first new him as Uncle Graham then he became Uncle Ray...all I knew is he was 'the coolest'. From his sense of humor to pouring Cognac on Breyer's vanilla ice cream I so looked up to my Uncle ..I will miss him dearly.

We always looked forward to a visit with Uncle Graham. From his impression of the TV character Jose Jimenez to the crazy layering of food on his plate during holiday meals..he was ALWAYS entertaining! That laugh and smile will be with me always.

My fondest memory of Capt. Hartman goes back to my high school years. I witnessed his playful obsession with hanging mistletoe in every conceive able and inconceivable place first hand No area was exempt including the car, bathroom and any unexpected place With a twinkle in his eye he would pursue his beloved Barbara mistletoe in hand. His sense of humor was boundless and his zest for life was contagious! He will always be remembered for his love of family and service to country. I know his practical jokes have God and all of his angels laughing out loud.

Dear Ray,
As a veteran, I thank you for your service. As Candi's "first mate," I thank you for the friendship, compassion, and humor you offered someone I love as deep as the ocean.
Though we never met, Candi spoke of you with much gratitude and fondness in her heart. You filled her life with wonderful memories and reflections of what it means to serve, to give, and to be grateful.
Now as you embark on your latest voyage, may God continue to hold you in His loving embrace.

Patty,
I am so sorry for your loss. Your dad was the best! I know he is happy now as he is back with his true love! You my dear, though, were the love and apple of his eye. He could not have asked for a more loving or caring daughter. You took not just such great care, but the best care ever, of any child I have ever seen in my entire life take care of a parent. You did it with not just one but with both of your parents, alone, and for many years. All I can say is you are truly an amazing and one of a kind woman! God will bless you greatly for all of your sacrifices.
I have so many fond memories over the past 20 some years of knowing him and your mom. We have had so many great times, meals, and laughs together. I will always still say he was the best "hugger" I have had the pleasure to hug! I have loved all the times we have had together and will treasure them always. He and Ma will forever live in my heart and memories. I will miss them greatly. I love you all. We must now go for dinner and drinks and celebrate in their honor. Much love, Candi

A life spent traveling the world in service for his nation, 68 years spent with the love of his life, what more can one ask for? Raymond Hartman was a happy guy who loved to laugh. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time of their loss.
