Verna Crabbe Obituary

CRABBE, VERNA H., 85, passed away on June 30, 2011. She was born on June 11, 1926 in Ranburne, Alabama. Mrs. Crabbe got married and moved to Orlando in the 1950's. She is survived by her three children Emily Gay, Rick Crabbe and Luanne Morgan; and her granddaughter Victoria Gay. Mom or "Ga Ga", as she was fondly referred to, doted on us and loved to garden, she was known for her great southern cooking and just being silly. She was a true Southern lady and passed along traditions and manners that will always be treasured and appreciated. She's now at peace and has now taken her place next to our dad and her siblings in heaven. She will always be loved and remembered in our hearts with admiration and respect. We ask that in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to Alzheimer's Foundation or Cornerstone Hospice. We love you mom. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 10:00am at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements entrusted to Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home. Emily, Rick and Luanne, Mom and Dad and I were so sad to hear that Aunt Verna had left us.
You know, Mom still talks about that trip down to the house when she was a teenager. She always adored your Mom. Mom always talked about how beautiful she was, what a sense of style she had and what a dashing couple your parents made, back when they were young.
I remember that trip to Disney and how you guys let me run around with you, ya'll were teenagers and I was just a kid... I don't know how you stood me!
It was good every time we got to see you all.
And Wanda is right, It will be good to see them all again.
You are loved, prayed for each day and I trust God to bring you the one small thing that will comfort your hearts.
Your cousin, Lynn

Luanne, Emily, and Rick. Please accept my condolences. Verna was a dear friend with whom I shared many a glass of "southern tea". I miss her smiling face, sense of humor, beautiful flowers, and home baked goodies. I shall always have "precious memories" of those years when we were neighbors.God Bless all of you. My love, Patricia Rogers.

Even though I cannot be with you at this time of grief, please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I have very fond memories of Aunt Verna. She was a very special aunt to me. She and my dad had a very special bond that seemed to bind us after his death. I enjoyed our visits throughout the years and remember her warm welcome when I visited her in Orlando during the past few years. May your good memories comfort you at this difficult time. I know she is in Heaven with Ben, Aunt Ty, Uncle Herb, Daddy, her parents, etc.
Thinking of you,
Wanda
